Karina Evora | Doctoral Scholar Working Towards Accessibility in Education

Today is International Day of Cape Verdean Women! So we take this day to honor all Cabo Verdean women in Rhode Island, in Cabo Verde, and all around the World!

In honor of this day, we send a special shoutout to this Pawtucket-native & Cabo Verdean Queen, Karina Evora, who is representing Kriolas & Rhode Island so well, and who just celebrated her birthday yesterday. Happy Birthday Karina! 🎉🎉

Karina is a first-year doctoral student at George Washington University in Washington, DC. Karina is ONE OF ONLY THREE doctoral fellows in the entire program 💁🏾‍♀️.

Thank you Karina for representing both Pawtucket & Cape Verdean women so well!

Words for our Cabo Verdean Woman

We also wanted to share this beautiful written piece from Denis Lobo, of London, who captured the essence of Cabo Verdean women so well:

Cape Verdean Woman is Mother…
Cape Verdean Woman is Sister…
Cape Verdean Woman is Grandma…
Cape Verdean Woman is Friend…
Cape Verdean Woman is Family…
Cape Verdean Woman is Nation…

Cape Verdean Woman is Power….

Cape Verdean Woman is Goddess!

Today, a Cape Verdean women is someone who represents the country, the woman who fights for her aims, and the woman, who reaches for what she really wants.

Thank you Daniel for your words. Thank you Karina for your work, and thank you to all Cabo Verdean women in the World for being the strong women that you are.

Pa Todo Nos Kriolas!
